The war in Ukraine

The war in Ukraine is a conflict that started in 2014 when Russia annexed Crimea and supported separatist rebels in eastern Ukraine. Since then, more than 13,000 people have been killed and millions displaced by the fighting. In December 2023, Russia launched a large-scale invasion of Ukraine, using missiles, drones, and ground troops to attack Ukrainian positions and cities. The international community has condemned Russia’s aggression and provided diplomatic and military support to Ukraine. The situation remains tense and volatile, with no sign of a peaceful resolution1
